Printing
Most windows in AQT have the option for Print Screen. This sends an image of the screen to the printer, and as such is a basic print facility.
In other places there are Print Data or Print Grid options. This displays the Print window that provides a more comprehensive printing facility for printing a grid of data. This print facility is provided as part of the Data Dynamics #Grid control.
The Print window works in the following way:
- You will be shown a Preview of your Print.
- There is a Print Options tab with a number of print options. You can amend these and redo the Preview.
- Once you are satisfied that the data is what you want, click on the Print icon in the Preview tab.
Horizontal Pages
If your grid has more than a few columns, it will be too wide to fit on a single page. The Grid Print will print all the columns in the grid on subsequent pages.
- How many Horizontal Pages are to be printed is specified in the Max Horizontal Pages option. Unfortunately there is currently a bug with this option, so it cannot be set to anything other than 0 (unlimited).
- If you have any Frozen columns in your display, you can specify whether these frozen columns are to be repeated on every horizontal page. This is set by the Repeat Frozen Columns option.
- The print will not span columns across pages (eg. a column will be shown on a single page only). If you have some very large columns you will not be able to print the entire value. You can circumvent this by going to the Data Display, selecting View > Variable Row Height then printing. When printing the data like this, you might also find the two-colour display useful for reading the output.
Fonts
The grid will be printed with the same font used in the grid display. The Footer and Header will also use the same font, however you can make these bigger by selecting the Font+ option. This specifies how much bigger the header / footer are than the grid display. You can also specify font effects (bold, italic, underline) for the header/footer.
